Marina's Blog

Welcome to my real estate blog.  I hope this is a place where we can share questions and ideas.  Life is learning and learning is life ... we are all in this together; so we might as well help, learn ... and certainly ENJOY while doing it!

Austin continues to be one of the most admired cities in the country; maybe even in the world!  Whether it is the economic growth, universities, quality of life, job market, or being "green" ... we seem to make all the good lists that really make living in Austin such a wonderful experience!

How does Austin fare compared to the National trends in Real Estate?

Over the past few months, the suburbs that are further out, seemed to have slowed down.  Compared to last year's activity, these suburbs show fewer listings and sales this year.  Having said that, one of the fastest growing suburbs are Cedar Park & Leander.  Affordability and the positive buzz about the schools and community growth seem to really help.

The hottest areas of town still tend to be the South Congress / Travis Heights areas along with the development taking place in East Austin.  If you are looking for hip, affordable downtown living, I'd say consider East Austin.  I'd give a thumbs up to the South Austin market as well.  The development (both residential and commercial) in this area has been incredible.

If you were to drive through downtown Austin today, you'd be amazed by the skyscrapers that are going up at an amazing pace.  Most of them are high rise Condominium developments with incredible views, style, and amenities!

Have any questions ... I'd love to hear from you!
